In 1822, the Rosetta Stone is translated by British scientist Thomas Young and French scholar Jean-François Champollion, gaining an understanding of Egyptian hieroglyphics.

Centuries later, despite faulty and limited data on Earth history,[1][2] the terrans of the Koprulu Sector retain knowledge of the event. Champollion and his possession of the Rosetta Stone would be a source of great frustration to terran archaeologist Jake Ramsey when faced with indecipherable protoss text.[3]

The next article in this series is 1865.
