• Somo Hung's parents send him to Umoja in order to get a better education than what the Fringe Worlds can provide.^[2]

• Late 2485: Confederacy forces led by Alpha Squadron captain Edmund Duke and 33rd Ground Assault Division captain Arcturus Mengsk clash with Kel-Morian Combine forces at the Noranda Glacier vespene refinery complex, Onuru Sigma. The former fall into an ambush and the Confederates respond by destroying the complex, only to be driven off by Kel-Morian brigade-size ground forces and battlecruisers. This battle marks the beginning of the Guild Wars.^[3]
