The baneling egg is a zerg pupal form set to appear at StarCraft II, being the transition unit between zerglings and banelings. A baneling egg uses a different model than standard zerg egg, and glows green until hatching.

[edit] Overview

Banelings are created from zerglings following a brief chrysalis phase.[1]

The appearance of the baneling egg is an immobile baneling, which gains movement after the mutation is complete.[2]

[edit] Game Unit

It uses the Zerg Egg portrait, but is smaller than the normal egg.[3]

Baneling eggs are easier to kill than regular eggs.[4]

  4. Well, we do have different eggs for the Banelings. They also have different stats (baneling eggs are much easier to kill). There is no reason we couldn't do custom eggs, though I think after about 3-4 different eggs it would start to be hard to tell them apart? Cavez. 2009-02-26. zerg eggs.
