Bill was a prospector in service to the Kel-Morian Combine. He had a weathered, squat and permanantly dirty look common to many in his line of work. He didn't talk much.

Alongside Lemuel Baden, Bill worked on a deep-core mining claim in Turanga Canyon on the world of Sonyan. However, elements of the 33rd Ground Assault Division of the Confederate Marine Corps moved in to evict the miners on the (false) pretense that it was an illegal operation. Despite initial resistance from hired mercenaries, the miners surrendered after Baden conferred with Confederate lieutenant Arcturus Mengsk, much to Bill's indignation.^[1]
