Challenges (formerly Challenge Missions) are a set of single-player educational missions in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Each challenge is roughly 5 to 10 minutes long and teaches an aspect of StarCraft II gameplay.[1] They evaluate and score the player's performance,[2] and even provide tips about how best to tackle them.[3] Achieving the highest score, however, requires strategic prowess. The player can unlock three different achievements per challenge depending on the final score.[1]
Two examples of original micromanagement challenges are Psionic Assault and Harbinger of Death.
In March 2012, Blizzard introduced StarCraft Master, a new series of 30 micromanagement challenges, available through custom games.[4]
