Duran: "Captain, I am Lieutenant Samir Duran of the Confederate Resistance Forces. I've been monitoring your attack against the Dominion, and I'd like to offer you my services and skills in return for amnesty."
Stukov: "Intriguing. Lieutenant, you have absolutely no idea as to who we are or what we have come here to do. Why do you wish to side with us?"
Duran: "Because my men and I have sworn to fight against the Dominion and its Emperor."

The Confederate Resistance Forces were an anti-Terran Dominion group led by Samir Duran.[1]

[edit] History

The organization formed at Tarsonis as a group of Confederate soldiers fled in a spaceship, which had taken laser fire and damage from zerg attacks. Two core members were Captain Angelina Emillian, a marine officer from the 33rd Ground Assault Division, and Lieutenant Samir Duran,[2] formerly of Alpha Squadron.[3] The small commando squad[3] was called the Confederate Resistance Forces by Duran. They had sworn to defeat the Terran Dominion and restore the Terran Confederacy.[1]

Duran and his forces joined the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Force as the first colonial conscripts at Braxis. They provided intelligence and resources that expedited the capture of the local Dominion stronghold, Boralis.[1] The captured intelligence allowed the UED to decrypt the Dominion datalinks.[2]

They used this information to plot an assassination attempt on Mengsk, led by Angelina Emillian, a marine who had trained and worked with Mengsk. The attack failed and Emillian was killed.[2]

Duran himself betrayed the UED's intentions some time later, assassinating Alexei Stukov.[4]
