Control is a measure of how much control a zerg commander has over its minions. Zerg higher-ranking than overlords (e.g. the Overmind, cerebrates, and Kerrigan) cannot directly control their minions, and must exert control through overlords.[1][2]

Gameplay

Control is a zerg gameplay counter limiting the size of a zerg force. The number of counters is increased by constructing select units, to a maximum of 200. New units may be produced so long as the cumulative control "cost" of all active units does not exceed the number of available control counters. A player generates control by creating overlords. Overseers continue to exert control.

Terran supply and protoss psi serve the same purpose as control.

In strategy discussions, control levels may be denoted as x/y, where x is the control used, and y is the total available control.
