The defiler mound is a zerg structure which provides the genetic template for the larvae to morph into defilers. The mound itself is a pool of cancerous soup strewn with a tangled mess of twisted biological rejects. The mound is so poisonous that mineral chunks around a mound are tainted with the essence of the defiler itself.
