The Destruction of Korhal was a Confederate attempt to destroy the Korhalian rebel movement once and for all by launching a strike of nuclear warheads upon the rebel planet. However, while the devastation brought by the nuclear strike destroyed most of the rebel army, its leader, Arcturus Mengsk, was not on the planet at that time, and so the rebellion did continue, reorganized as the Sons of Korhal, with fewer numbers.
