Dez was the uncle of Ardo Melnikov. He owned a shop in the the central compound of Helaman Township on Bountiful.
As Dez is only mentioned in Melnikov's memories, memories which were tampered via neural resocialization, it is nebulous whether he even existed.

Dez's surname is possibly Melnikov, but as it is unknown which side of Ardo's family he is on, this cannot be said with certainty.
