The divinity of mankind was a quasi-religious dogma that was zealously followed by the United Powers League. Its tenets called for the eradication of any non-vital human prosthetics or mutations, as it was believed that genetic alteration, cybernetics and the use of psychoactive drugs led to the degradation of humanity. To ensure that such standards were met, the UPL enacted Project Purification, resulting in the eradication of nearly 400,000,000 people.[1]

It is unknown whether the UPL continues to hold such beliefs as the United Earth Directorate. However, its xenophobic stance towards alien species[2] and inclination of human triumphalism[3] suggests that the old dogma remains.
