The Dusk Wings are a terran mercenary organization. They were one of the first Banshee squadrons deployed by the Terran Dominion until they deserted, finding that they made more profit as a mercenary group.

HistoryEdit

During the Second Great War, they offered their services to Raynor's Raiders after the recovery of the xel'naga device component from Typhon XI; the Raiders acquired Banshees of their own at the same time.[1]

SC2 Lab Ultra Capacitors Icon Ultra Capacitors

Attack upgrades improve attack cooldown of affected units by 5% per level.[2]

These self-replicating ultra capacitors reduce the reload time of weapons and systems. Now each of the weapon upgrades at the armory and engineering bay increases attack speed by 5% in addition to increasing damage.

SC2 Lab VanPlating Icon Vanadium Plating

Armor upgrades increase health of affected units by 5% per level.[2]

We have created a new lightweight alloy called vanadium. Vanadium diffuses weapon impacts much more efficiently than traditional armor plating, and it better preserves the life of our units. Now each of the armor upgrades in the armory and engineering bay increases unit life by 5% in addition to increasing armor.

Banshees deal linear splash damage.[3]

The Shockwave Missile Battery fires multiple missiles in a straight line with each shot allowing the Banshee to hit multiple ground targets. This upgrade is useful when fighting ground targets that are packed close together.

Doubles the amount of time Banshees can stay cloaked.

Wolfe Industries offers a new model of Banshee that embeds light-dampening materials into the hull. This new hull material requires far less energy to conceal and makes it much easier for the Banshee to maintain cloak once initiated.[3]

Increase starting energy of all units by 100. Increase maximum energy of all units by 100.[4]

This reactor has a larger energy reserve on startup and can hold a much larger charge. Now our specialist units can use their abilities the moment they hit the battlefield, and they can store more energy when idle for long periods of time. Specialists units are units that use energy, such as the medic, ghost, and wraith.

Damaged mechanical units recover hit points when out of combat, at a rate of 0.6015 each second.[4]

Our ship and vehicle hulls are now made from a material called Regenerative Bio-Steel. This material uses internal nanobots to slowly repair any damage the hull sustains. While this regeneration process is much slower than conventional SCV repairs, it can be the difference between life and death if no SCVs are available.

DevelopmentEdit

The Dusk Wings were originally mercenaries that were based on the Wraith, rather than Banshees. This is can be seen in the editor, where the Wraith version remains only as an incomplete unit.[5]
