Dylar IV is a planet in the Koprulu Sector. Although an inhospitable desert world, its thin nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere is still capable of supporting life.[1] It appears to have pink clouds from space.[2]

[edit] History
In antiquity Dylar IV hosted a protoss mining colony. However, the settlement was later abandoned, becoming a set of ruins.[1]
Thousands of years later, Dylar IV became a Core World of the Terran Confederacy, serving as the home base of Omega Squadron[3] and the Dylarian Shipyards.[4] The world was infested by the zerg early in the Great War.[3] It was inherited by the Terran Dominion.[4]
The Dylarian Shipyards were attacked by the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Fleet[4] and the world's defense forces were impressed into the fleet.[5] The world was later abandoned. Eventually, following the Brood War, Dylar IV would be investigated by the Alliance and the ruins handed over to the protoss.[1]

[edit] Trivia
According to StarCraft: I, Mengsk, Dylar IV is a gas giant.[6] However, this is in contrast to its appearance in Alternity: StarCraft Edition, which portrays it as a desert world.[1] However, that the zerg were able to infest Dylar IV (as stated in the manual of StarCraft) infers that the planet is at least terrestrial.[3]
