Dylar IV is a planet in the Koprulu sector.

Although an inhospitable desert world, its thin nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere is still capable of supporting life.[1]

History[]

Antiquity[]

In antiquity Dylar IV hosted a protoss mining colony. However, the settlement was later abandoned, becoming a set of ruins.[1]

Terran World[]

Thousands of years later, Dylar IV became a Core World of the Terran Confederacy, serving as the home base of Omega Squadron[2] and the Dylarian Shipyards.[3]

During the Guild Wars, Kel-Morian forces launched ambushes on Confederate forces located there.[4]

The world was infested by the zerg early in the Great War.[2]

The planet was inherited by the Terran Dominion. The shipyards were attacked by the United Earth Directorate Expeditionary Fleet[3] and the remnants of the world's defenders were conscripted.[5]

Abandonment[]

The world was later abandoned. After the Brood War, Dylar IV was investigated by the Alliance and the ruins handed over to the protoss.[1]

Dominion Reclamation[]

By the Second Great War, Dominion fleet recruits were summoned to the shipyards again.[6]

Trivia[]

According to StarCraft: I, Mengsk, Dylar IV is a gas giant.[7] However, this is in contrast to its appearance in Alternity: StarCraft Edition, which portrays it as a desert world.[1] However, that the zerg were able to infest Dylar IV (as stated in the manual of StarCraft) infers that the planet is at least terrestrial.[2] StarCraft II: Heaven's Devils mentions a Kel-Morian attack on Confederate troops on Dylar IV (distinct from an attack at the shipyards), suggesting Dylar IV is terrestrial.[4]
