- Vaessen(src)

Kare Vaessen is a terran ghost of college age. She possesses exceptional intelligence and psionic potential and, somewhat uniquely for a ghost, a moral character. Considered cold and unfriendly by those who don't know her, Vaessen takes no pleasure in her mission profiles and longs to leave her business as an assassin behind her. Still, she's willing to blow every alien enemy to hell to do it.

Biography[]

Vaessen was conscripted into the Ghost Program as an infant and was trained as a ghost. Unknown to her commanders however, her psychic dampeners malfunctioned, allowing Vaessen to retain abilities not sanctioned for use by the Confederacy (the ability to unleash psychic attacks and psychic healing in addition to her telepathy).

Vaessen either escaped from the Ghost Program or had such means provided for her with the fall of the Confederacy. Regardless, she is now a free agent affiliated with the Alliance. As part of an Alliance team, she took part in a mission to Dylar Station and Dylar IV itself a few years after the Brood War, earning a medal for her trouble.
