Marcus is a Dominion intelligence agent, bodyguard and a friend of Nuura Joss. Unlike many, he doesn't believe she is responsible for assassinating Senator Canon.
Joss later became War Pig, an expendable mercenary working for Tamsen Cauley. She became suspicious of fellow War Pig Cole Hickson and in desperation asked Marcus for information about him.
Marcus received information that Cauley used an experimental form of neural resocialization on Hickson from an agent he had pull with, Cally Muller. He passed the information on to Joss.[1]
