The flak pistol is a terran weapon. It apparently replaced the slugthrower as the marine sidearm after the Brood War.[1] The weapon's ergonomics allows it to be wielded comfortably by personnel in CMC armor.[2] It fires explosive rounds.[3]
Trivia
The pistol bears resemblance to the sidearm of the titular character from RoboCop, the Auto 9.
