Something I'd like to do myself, but a) been short on time until today, and b) thought it best to have some discussion first. Basically I'm referring to the new units at BlizzCon 2011, how for the three, some units have been removed, others added.

As it stands, I think it might be good to create a units template for each version of SCII—WoL, HotS and when it comes to it, LotV. Unlike the SC1 template, where the BW units were purely added, there's been unit removals as well. The best way to go about this IMO is to create a different template for each game. For example, on the protoss WoL template there would be the mothership in its usual place, while in the HotS one the Templest will have it. I think this would do a better job of showing the 'standard' units for each game (as in multiplayer) and like the terran WoL template, bunch others into singleplayer exclusives (likely motherships and carriers will still appear in HotS IMO). This would also allow us to be more specific with these kinds of units-stone guardians appear in the campaign of WoL for instance, but appearing in HotS isn't a given, along with many terran WoL units (e.g. predators). In essence, the idea is to use the WoL templates as they were pre-BlizzCon (technically it would be StarCraft II templates), create duplicate copies for HotS and add units as they're revealed.

Granted there's an issue with this, as it's unclear where many of the BlizzCon 2011 units appear in the tech trees (where do they go on templates?) but I'd still recomend this approach. Still, at the very least, thought it best to get feedback.--Hawki 21:07, November 6, 2011 (UTC)

They have templates like this at the Command & Conquer wiki (a little image icon in the upper right hand corner). I was planning on doing a different kind of overhaul, but only once the unit selection had been finalized. (Here's the link)
(For instance, the mothership would have had a Wings of Liberty section, to indicate it's playability in WoL online, and then a WoL campaign section...) PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) contribs) 14:50, November 7, 2011 (UTC)
