Added by PsiSeveredHeadGorgelings are a strain of baneling. Their subatomic acid dissolves enemies into their component matter. The zerg player immediately gains back a quarter of the minerals and gas spent on the killed unit.[1]

Gorgelings were to appear in Heart of the Swarm as an alternative to the splitterling.[1] They were effectively replaced by the hunter, which maintains their aesthetic, but functions differently.[2]
