The infested terran is a unit in StarCraft II created by an infestor.
An infestor uses 25 energy to deploy an infested swarm egg a short distance away; the infested terran hatches five seconds afterwards. An infestor may deploy as many infested terrans as energy allows.[1]
Once hatched, the infested terran has a relatively short lifespan and very slow movement speed, making properly positioning them crucial, though it is slightly superior to its marine counterpart in both health and attack power. Proper usage could wreak havoc among an enemy's economic line as the infestor can spawn infested marines while burrowing, giving opponents who didn't get any type of detection a big surprise. Infested terrans are also useful at taking down enemy air units such as void rays and providing extra firepower for your main army.
