In StarCraft II, Jim Raynor appears as a hero unit in "Liberation Day" and "Back in the Saddle." He is a stronger marine unit with higher damage, armor, and HP.

In "Liberation Day," Raynor has no special abilities, but is an effective tank against the Dominion marines the player finds. Send Raynor in first to draw fire, then allow his accompanying marines to move in and swiftly defeat enemies.

In "Back in the Saddle," Raynor is an AI-controlled ally unit. He will automatically follow Kerrigan and attack nearby enemies. If his HP is depleted, he will not die, but will fall and be incapacitated for a period of time, after which he recovers. Recovery terminals in the level will heal both him and Kerrigan.
