KL-2 is a dead star. The system included at least one barren planet, which exploded, creating an asteroid field.[1]
History

In 2503,[2] the Möebius Foundation visited the dead planet in order to investigate a xel'naga site there. They released an entity, which called itself the "Voice in the Darkness" and other names.
It was seemingly defeated by the band of Dark Templar which arrived to investigate, but the planet was destroyed in the aftermath. The entity managed to hide itself from protoss scans.[1]
