Kalathi

The kalathi are a sapient species that was encountered by the protoss a few centuries before the Great War.[1]
The kalathi became embroiled in a civil war, which the protoss interfered in. This resulted in the Kalath Intercession, in which the protoss deployed colossus robots against the kalathi, who were virtually decimated by the attacks. In the aftermath of the affair, the Conclave tightened the restrictions of the Dae'Uhl, forbidding the protoss to ever again directly interfere in the affairs of "lesser races."[2]
It appears that the general terran population of the Koprulu Sector possesses no knowledge of the kalathi's existance.[3]
