Laser scalpels are handheld terran devices used for medical purposes.^[1]

Laser surgery is known to be possessed by terrans for cosmetic purposes. Laser scalpels may play a role in this process.^[2]

It is worth noting that the protoss appear to have their own laser scalpels, albeit automated, larger ones.^[3]
