Lester was a soldier in the Terran Confederacy. In December 2499, he was stationed on Mar Sara. During a night patrol with his sergeant in a light reconnaissance vehicle they ran over a zergling. Lester initially thought it was a dog and was corrected by the sergeant. The sergeant thought that it was weird for it to be this far inland but turned around to find it was not alone. Hydralisks prevented the unarmed troopers from reentering and fleeing in the LRV and killed both. In his last moments, Lester told the sergeant that he loved him to which the sergeant returned a distasteful expression.
