A lyote is a creature found on Mar Sara^[1] and Tarsonis.^[2] They are scavengers, known for their echoing nocturnal howl. ^[3]

It appears as a critter in StarCraft II.^[3]

The lyote originally had two tails, but lost one during development.^[4]
