PC baang

PC baangs (PC방, 피시방 or 피씨방) are internet game rooms used in South Korea. They are similar to internet cafés in other countries. The word "baang" (Hangeul: 방; Hanja: 房) means "room" in Korean, so the term literally means PC room.

In baangs, players can play LAN-based games, including StarCraft. South Korea has widespread broadband support as well, but players tend to prefer playing in baangs.[1] There were over 20,000 baangs in South Korea as of 2006.[2]

As of March 2009, some baangs enabled players to play StarCraft II beta without beta keys.[3]
