Phase-smiths are protoss engineers that work on the optimization of weapons, armor, and spacefaring ships. The Khalai[1] and Nerazim both use phase-smiths; those of the latter kindred are sometimes trained in combat, to the level that they rival the Templar.[2][3]

During the End War, Amon took control of a number of phase-smiths, and used them to construct a fourth arkship. It was deployed against the allied commanders.[4]

Inventive phase-smiths are always experimenting with ways to improve the probes operational efficiency, though the its basic design has remained unchanged for many cycles. [5] Phase-smiths also invented the phase prism, creating a warp prism that can channel Void energies.[6]
