Predator (fighter)

The Predator is a Terran air unit to be featured in StarCraft II.

It appears to be analogous in unit balance to the Valkyrie Frigate of the original StarCraft, and also to be the basic air combat unit for the Terran faction. The Predator is constructed at the Starport, and does not require any other research or further buildings to construct.

The Predator can only engage enemy air targets, and is defenseless against hostile ground forces. It also features a special "intercept" ability where the Predator shoots down incoming enemy fire. This ability may be a transformation, in which the Predator becomes an "Interceptor," but information about the ability is inconsistent.
