Biography[]

Before joining Blizzard, Schutter was a modder, where StarCraft II was one of the games he modded.[1] In this period, he was looking to pursue a career as an illustrator, and did some small-scale work in graphic design.[2] He spent years experimenting with Dawn of War mechanics for mods for StarCraft, Warcraft III, and StarCraft II.[3]

As a member of Blizzard, he worked on StarCraft II, which he worked on for six years.[1] He spectated at GameHeart[4] before becoming the lead UI designer for StarCraft II.[5] He produced numerous 2D assets for the game including portraits, console skins, and sprays.[2]

Schutter left Blizzard by late 2020, and is currently working at Frost Giant Studios.[6]

Trivia[]

Co-op Missions is his favorite mode in StarCraft II. Schutter initially opposed adding Co-op to the game as he felt it didn't fit its competitive nature.[7]
