Samiku was a protoss-colonized world. It was considered a backwater with nothing worth fighting for.
During the Fall of Aiur it came under attack by the zerg, which later became frenzied and leaderless. The protoss defenders, under the command of Martul, attempted to resist, but received no reinforcement and were losing until the mothership Moratun under the command of Juras arrived to rescue them.[1]
