Sandler was the captain of the science vessel Amerigo. Roughly two months after the fall of the Terran Confederacy, Sandler was sent as part of an Alpha Squadron force to Char, led by General Edmund Duke.[1]
Due to the hijacking some shuttles, the zerg, led by Sarah Kerrigan, were able to board the ship, slaughtering all who got in their way. Sandler managed to alert Duke to the situation, moments before meeting the same fate as her fellow crewmen.
