"The Sergeant", or Sarge at times, was a soldier of the Terran Confederacy. His subordinate, Lester, did not share the same taste in music as he did, but the sergeant controlled the music selection since he was in charge.

In December 2499 he was stationed on Mar Sara. One night while patrolling the wastelands in a light reconnaissance vehicle with Lester they struck a zergling. The sergeant explained that zerglings were a "smaller type of zerg" but was suspicious as to encountering one so far out from its hive cluster. As soon as he finished his sentence, he realized that the zergling was a part of a patrolling zerg force and turned to see more zerg between them and the jeep.
In the last moments of his life, Lester confessed his love for "Sarge", but the reaction was less than positive.
