Starmaps are holographic three-dimensional maps of sectors and the planets and star systems within them. Utilized by terrans, they are easily customizable. A tactical display is able to be superimposed over a starmap, displaying fleet movements within a sector.
The StarCraft II campaign, Wings of Liberty was expected to have its own starmap, used to access missions. It still does, but is scaled down from earlier versions. However, future expansions are expected to have galactic-level starmaps.
