The swarm queen is a type of queen found in the StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm singleplayer campaign.

Game UnitEdit

Compared to regular queens, they move more quickly when off the creep (although being on creep still gives them a movement advantage). They do not possess the Spawn Larvae ability.[1] The swarm queen also has the Rapid Transfusion ability instead of Transfusion, which heals a small amount of HP over time, but can be set to autocast.

AbilitiesEdit

Many zerg ground units may burrow, become invisible and may be revealed primarily by detectors, and may not move or attack. Exceptions are the roach, which may move while burrowed, the infestor, which may move and cast Infested Terran,[2] and the baneling, which can detonate while burrowed.

Some units can unburrow via autocast, causing them to emerge and attack when an enemy moves into range.

The ability is not smartcast.

CreepTumor SC2 Icon1 Create Creep Tumor

The queen forces a creep tumor out of her bowels.[3]

Creep tumors can only be created upon the creep, and within a range.

Co-op MissionsEdit

Swarm queens are mutated by Abathur in Co-op Missions as an alternative to normal queens. Upgrades for swarm queens are unlocked at the evolution chamber when Abathur reaches Level 6.
