The Tal'darim Mothership is a mothership owned by the Tal'darim.

HistoryEdit

Tal'darim Executor Nyon deployed aboard the ship to the Sigma Quadrant Worldship, an abandoned xel'naga worldship, during the Second Great War. The worldship was being attacked by Raynor's Raiders to secure a component to a xel'naga device under Tal'darim protection.^[1]

The terrans destroyed the mothership, taking Nyon down with it.^[1]

The Raiders made off with the component.^[1]

Vortex Usage Energy 100 Range 9 Duration 20 Cooldown 20 Hotkey V Notes The mothership creates a gravity vortex[2] which remove air and ground units, both friendly and enemy, except mothership itself, from play. Units that enter the vortex after it has opened will also be affected. After the Vortex ends all of the affected units will reappear. Vortex removes Force Fields in the area of effect. Units leaving the Mothership's Vortex are un-targetable and immune to damage for 1.5 seconds. The area of effect is 2.5. This ability is not available in Heart of the Swarm, being replaced by Time Warp. Edit

Wormhole Transit Usage Energy 25[3] Hotkey T [3] Notes The mothership can instantly travel to a protoss building.[3] The ability only works on fully constructed buildings.[4][5] Edit

In addition, the mothership projects an aura similar to that of a pylon or deployed warp prism^[6] and will summon units to its location using the warp-in animation. This ability does not appear on the game unit's UI board.^[1]

NotesEdit

The Tal'darim Mothership is simply referred to as "mothership" in "Maw of the Void" and has the standard portrait. The name is derived from the map editor.

It is possible to defeat the mission without destroying the Tal'darim Mothership, but it requires a non-standard approach. If so, the executor's death quote is not given.
