Hercules vs. APC

So, is there any actual proof that the Hercules and APC are one and the same? Tanks and APCs are separate vehicles, and what's been written seems to be based on insinuation.--Hawki (talk) 13:19, January 13, 2019 (UTC)

There's nothing that actually calls the model a tank, it seems to be a general assumption given the similarities to the Siege Tank model, and the standard "all AFV's are tanks" mentality. The editor simply refers to it as "hercules.m3". So there's no support for it actually being a tank and neither is it called a tank, and given the vehicle matches the concept art all the way down to the windows and side bunkers, its probably more conjectural to assume they're different. I'd ditch the hercules (tank) article and move to a "Hercules (APC) as a cancelled unit, or the development article for the APC. Nolanstar (talk) 20:07, January 13, 2019 (UTC)

Yeah, but if the Hercules became the APC, what's the Hercules doing in the editor if it wasn't a different unit of some kind?

I've left the armored transport notes on both pages, since you're right in that the concept art does bear resemblance to the Hercules, but I figure the least conjectural method is to keep both pages spearate, and make the notes on both pages as well.--Hawki (talk) 05:12, January 16, 2019 (UTC)
