Both describe the fall as a whole and the differences, as far as I can see, are superficial. Also want to say here that in the Battle of Tarsonis article, the casualties list showing the Zerg had minor losses seems pretty unlikely, considering that they were facing the SoK, the entire Confederate military and the Protoss fleet at the same time. For all we know, either of the 3 sides may have inflicted the Zerg pretty heavy losses in some battles elsewhere in Tarsonis.
It's not as if the entir Swarm only headed towards Tarsonis City and New Gettysburg all over. As the Adjutant in Starcraft 1 says, Protoss and Zerg forces continued battle across the core continent over the planet, meaning that the Zerg definitely did NOT have minor losses at all.
