Rename to planetary/orbital bombardment?[]
In most science fiction works, attacking a planet from orbiting spaceships is called either planetary bombardment or orbital bombardment. When we're talking about obliterating all traces of life and civilization on a planet, "purification" really sounds silly Lalala la 04:10, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
The article is not about orbital bombardment in general, it's about a particular form of bombardment and its context, so no, renaming the article to orbital bombardment would be inappropriate. There's nothing silly about naming the article using the term that's actually used in-universe. - Meco (talk, contribs) 05:37, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
Orbital bombardment is perhaps the better title as "purification" is, as far as I can tell, only based on Artanis' comments in Resurrection. However, "orbital bombardment" is also a bit general and we'd be obliged in a sense to have terran orbital bombardment techniques covered-techniques that are adequatly covered in the nuke and battlecruiser articles. I'm willing to go with "purification" for now.--Hawki 08:14, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
