I think this is widely inferior to the fortified bunker. Fortified allows it to survive a lot more punishment, while this just give you a virtually free marine with 1 less range than the ones inside the bunker...--El_Nazgir 15:08, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
Both upgrades help the bunker survive. Lasting longer means it is more likely to kill all enemies and still stand while having extra attack means killing the enemy faster and taking less damage from them. The fortified bunker is unnecessary if the bunker doesn't take heavy damage. Multiple bunkers with shrike turrets can add up to take on large forces if they are being repaired by SCV's.Wil1 22:31, November 4, 2010 (UTC)
Effectiveness v. Fortified Bunker continued[]
This page states that, theoretically, this upgrade is better with less bunkers and fortified bunkers are better with more marines, but shouldn't that depend on how well covered the bunkers are by perdition turrets/other obstacles? Well protected and fixed enough, bunkers never have to be worried about getting destroyed.
The page states that a bunker with shrike turret and 2 or less marines is more effective than a fortified bunker with the same number of marines. That comparison is made for bunkers fighting the enemy directly. So other factors do change the effectiveness (like the Psi Disruptor vs the Hive Mind Emulator).Wil1 03:50, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
With all these objections, seems like the page should be changed. PSH aka Kimera 757 (talk) contribs) 12:04, December 7, 2010 (UTC)
