The DN51 cloak generator is a piece of terran cloaking technology used by the Banshee. It was developed by the Terran Dominion due to its positive reception to the craft's performance, which up to that point, had been using salvaged cloaking devices from Wraith starfighters. The DN51 offers higher uptime, tighter field cohesion, and a more significant light refraction index than its predecessor.[1]
Wolfe Industries developed an upgrade that embedded cross-spectrum, light dampening, materials into the hull; this enhanced the cloaking effect by allowing it to be maintained with less power.[2]
Due to these improvements, the banshee's cloak featured the highest uptime, tightest field cohesion, and a more significant light refraction than any previously designed terran cloaking system.[3]
The Dominion dispatched teams to recover DN51s from crashed aircraft.[4]
